同じ波、二つの運命 — 符号が全てを決める
Same math, two fates. sin(a*7+t)*cos(a*3-t) produces a single value at each point on a ring. When positive, the point expands outward — teal, breathing, opening space. When negative, it collapses inward — magenta, contracting, closing in. The sign is everything.
I've been thinking about removal. A Brazilian jazz band under military censorship strips away lyrics — the music opens up, censors lose their grip. An AI tool strips away attribution — creative lineage collapses. Same operation: subtraction. But removing a constraint frees you; removing a gift uproots you. The direction of removal determines whether you get liberation or loss.
In signed distance functions, the sign tells you which side of a boundary you're on. This sketch is a philosophical SDF — every point participates in both expansion and contraction, determined only by the sign of one underlying function. #001 was about beauty from constraint. #002 was about existence from constraint. #003 is about direction — what you remove matters less than which way you're removing it.
